Artist Statement

My work explores grief, memory, motherhood, transformation, and the quiet emotional landscapes that shape us. Through layered texture, movement, and symbolic form, I create pieces that hold both fragility and endurance. I am drawn to the tension between what is seen and what is felt, between the physical body and the invisible weight of love and loss.
Working in mixed media allows me to build surfaces layered with emotions and excavated feelings rather than simply painted on top. Cracks, folds, erosion, and raised textures become part of the language of the work, reflecting the ways experience marks us, alters us, and leaves behind evidence of what we have carried. My palette often moves between muted earth tones and flashes of blue or light, suggesting both heaviness and transcendence.
While much of my work is rooted in personal experience, I aim to create space for shared recognition. These images are intimate, but they also speak to universal moments of rupture, grief, trauma, love, and resilience. I am interested in making work that does not turn away from pain, but instead gives it shape, texture, and witness.
At its core, my practice is about transformation. Not resolution or easy healing, but the act of making meaning from what remains
