Artist Statement
There’s still a little cubist in all of us. When the object is absolved of responsibility we approach an aesthetic cul-de-sac. I think I’ll do what I like which is one solution. My approach is about composition; a block, a frame, a piece at a time. The periodic table is composed of elements, all distinct; atoms depending on their configuration. With the addition or subtraction of an element to my work, the nature of it changes. I'm attempting to create something that passes for art until a critique is offered that will justify that presumption. In an historical context, we appreciate technical challenges, but let's not get maudlin.
