Artist Statement

My work aims to create a space that invites viewers to embrace the idea that we don’t have to be defined by just one identity or experience. As ever-evolving humans, we deserve art that encourages deep introspection and invites us to imagine realities that are intentional and multi-dimensional. At the heart of my paintings is a celebration of the beauty of Black women, an homage inspired by my strong ties to being raised by women. I often intertwine vibrant, colorful flowers to enhance their beauty, incorporate words of affirmation, and explore abstract elements to deepen the emotional impact. My work serves as a bridge between personal narrative and collective experience, sparking conversations about identity, belonging, and resilience.
