James Titterton

Artist Statement

Aaron Blaise said it best: "Go out and put some beauty back into the world." Whenever I'm asked how I draw or why I do it, the best answers that come to mind are usually pretty simple: whether it's fun, serene, vibrant, or all-out chaotic, my style was born out of a desire to brighten up the day. Bright, lively colors, fantastical subjects, and out-there concepts are what I like to work with, and if it brightens things up for you, then that's a win.

While I started with more traditional media, I'm currently working through Photoshop running off a Wacom Cintiq. While it may not be the most popular way the program is used, it, along with the Wacom, affords me the modern convenience of digital artwork while still allowing me to utilize most of the traditional techniques and principles I've picked up on. I never use imported photos, or any editing features beyond drawing with a stylus.
