Artist Statement

I am a mixed-media artist working in photography, acrylic paint and glass mosaic. I combine scrap stained glass, fragments of my own photographs and acrylic paint to create my works. I create images of places where I feel a sense of wonder and peace. I find that the most meaningful places invite contemplation and examination and I seek to use each medium to reconnect with different aspects of a place. What is most meaningful is often camouflaged. What is hidden upon first glance, can become clearer upon more careful inspection. Nature has much to teach me about healing, about connection, and about recreation instead of perfection.
