Artist Statement

I'm a Cuban-Venezuelan filmmaker based in New Orleans whose work focuses on highlighting the history and cultures of Caribbean & Latin American people. As part of the Venezuelan diaspora, I take a critical eye to America's influence on the continent while pushing to highlight the beauty and joy of its people and land. I've pursued this through documentary and narrative film work, as well as 35mm photography and in my partnership with the non-profit New Orleans Video Access Center.
