Artist Statement

Originally from the muddy waters of southern Louisiana, my work is directly influenced by the tension between the natural landscape and the human body. A relationship that are both manicured and feared. I am interested in the connections between the physical and psychological and how both are informed by place and placement. Largely influenced by mysticism, folklore, anthropomorphism, news headlines, and the feminine grotesque, my work collages a narrative that oscillates between the familiar and the estranged.
