Artist Statement

I am a traveler, and--having ridden the roads all over the USA--I've chosen New Orleans as my current home. While most of my work depicts the lives of my previous locales (the American west and the major metros east of the Mississippi), I am hoping to build a portfolio here, and to see as much as I can of the legends which walk with us.

I am guided by, in Sontag's terms, photography as an "intuitive mode of encounter." My images are like life, but larger, smaller--there's a message in the miscellany. I'm not sure exactly what it says, but I know how it makes me feel, and sometimes that feeling is all there is.
