Justine Crowley
Artist Statement
Justine Crowley has been using cameras for the last 35 plus years to capture the way she sees our world. She is fascinated by light, and the way it affects the world around us. She sees the way light highlights the small everyday things and the way it can transform an everyday sight into something spectacular. Her work has been accepted into juried shows in across the country. Her piece, No Place Like Home, took third place in the 2024 Greater Baton Rouge Arts Council Art Flow Show: No Place Like Home. Her most recent solo show was through the Artesia Arts Council in Artesia, NM in October 2023. She and her three dogs split their time between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The two cats don’t. She started her journey with a Kodak 110 camera and now shoots with a Canon Mark 5D DSLR, a Hasselblad 500 C/S Film camera, a PaperShoot Camera, and even an iPhone 12 Pro. Her latest image capturing venture is creating scanograms.
