Artist Statement

I am fascinated by people. I love portraiture because of the expressions you can capture. I love studying faces. If you find me staring at you, I am not being rude but rather mesmerized by your face and how it captures light and shadows.

Oil is my favorite medium because I love its buttery feel and it's blending ability. Love working Ala Prima.

My work consists of 40% commissioned work of people and pet portraits.

For this exhibit I am presenting two (2) example of my work:

For Thanksgiving our model was set up to reflect Te Ata a native american story teller. As a result I painted "Feathers"

My next piece is "Sunkissed". This inspiration came about when I walked into my east facing kitchen one morning and the sun was caressing everything.
