Artist Statement

My current artwork is inspired by sea creatures, the ocean, and California wildlife, which reflects my interest in the natural world and its preservation. I like hand carving and getting inspiration by the natural shape and color of each stone. The slowness of the process helps me to find the right form for each piece. Often the stone does not reveal its true nature until worked on for a while and polishing may reveal other qualities as well.
