Artist Statement

My pastel and watercolor paintings combine my passions for creating art, appreciation of nature and enjoyment of travel. A holiday on the California coast, a drive in the mountains or a garden tour will inspire me. The challenge is to translate the vision I have onto a two-dimensional surface, using vivid colors and contrast to depict the image.
