Artist Statement

My art begins as play. A place to shut off my thoughts, calm my breathing, and let go of out- comes. I love the touch of the brush when I can freehand a circle, such a feeling of freedom and success. I wondered what I could do with something as simple as circles.

I use acrylic paint, oil pastels, acrylic pens, chalk lines, and a variety of pencils on canvas. I love working on large pieces with bold complementary colors, seeing where the lines take me. Looking at a painting and always seeing something new inspires me to take chances to move forward with my designs. I want the viewer to feel connected to fun places that are full of color and life.
