Artist Statement

ARTIST STATEMENT
My appreciation for the environment inspired me to pursue an education in painting, starting
with acrylics with Shelby Dillon, Jed Dorsey and Dianna Shyne. I then expanded my horizons to
local artists, watercolorist, Mary Lou Horan, and oils with David Dulko. They enabled my
artistic vision to grow into various mediums to capture the essence and beauty of nature and
preserve it with my brush.
Living in New England is an inspiration to capture the beauty of changing seasons with its
sunrises, sunsets, bodies of water and beaches. The birds, flowers and nature that surrounds us
draws me in. Sunrises and sunsets have majestic skies with myriads of colors and begs to be
captured on my canvas.
I have exhibited my work at numerous local fairs and shows and have been an exhibitor at the
East Haven Art Council. Proud to be a member and exhibitor for the Milford Art Commission
and the Hamden Art League (HAL).
Recently I was deeply humbled to win the Lorraine Siegel Memorial Award at HAL’s 2025
Fall/Winter Exhibition for my “Lake Como” in mixed media, watercolor and acrylic.
It's an honor to present my works with a solo exhibition at the Hagaman Memorial Library
in East Haven, Connecticut, my hometown.
Art is both an escape from today’s realities and my hope for a more peaceful existence.
