Artist Statement

Chloe Dzan Dankocsik is a collage artist whose practice emerges from the tension between construction and imagination. Balancing sharp formal instincts with a distinctly whimsical sensibility, Dankocsik creates works that feel at once unruly and meticulously engineered. Cut forms, found imagery, and layered materials collide to produce visual narratives that resist fixed interpretation. Through this process, she transforms systems of order and fragmentation into something stranger, more dreamlike, and subtly subversive—inviting viewers to navigate worlds where structure and fantasy exist in productive friction.
