Artist Statement

I am a printmaker and ceramicist studying at the University of West Georgia. My work explores themes of sexuality, gender, and mental health, with the body serving as a recurring and central focus throughout my practice. I see the body as an archive that carries memory, trauma, pleasure, identity, and transformation. Through printmaking in particular, I seek to uncover and share the stories my own body holds.

I began my artistic journey in ceramics, drawn to the tactile and physical nature of clay. Over time, I developed a deep connection to the layered processes and rich history of printmaking during my first class with Cynthia Lollis. Printmaking’s intimacy, repetition, and capacity for multiples resonate with the way I think about embodiment and personal narrative.

Across both mediums, I am interested in vulnerability and material memory, and in how touch, pressure, carving, and impression reflect lived experience. My work invites viewers to consider the body not only as a physical form but as a site of complexity, resilience, and storytelling.
