Artist Statement
I hold a BFA in Textiles and Fashion from Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia. PA. My work is rooted in the relationship between the body, clothing, and adornment. Each piece is entirely handmade, with an emphasis on material integrity and thoughtful construction. My background in fashion informs my approach- works are not conceived as isolated objects, but as elements of complete, wearable expression.
My process integrates found vintage components with newly fabricated elements. The majority of vintage materials are sourced from flea markets , selected for their inherent patina and evidence of age-qualities that cannot be replicated. These elements are preserved, recontextualized, allowing each piece to carry a sense of history while functioning in a contemporary context.
Even when working with new materials, I seek to evoke a sense of depth and time. The work prioritizes character over perfection, resulting in pieces that feel discovered rather than manufactured.
