Kristin Thomas
Artist Statement
My art is prophetic —an invitation to see transformation made visible. My work explores becoming: how pressure, and refinement give rise to beauty, resilience, and light. Inspired by Scripture, nature, and lived experience, I translate spiritual truths into tactile form, allowing viewers to encounter meaning through both sight and touch.
My process is highly material and Holy Spirit breathed. I build layered surfaces using textured acrylics, marble powders, metallics, mica, gold leaf, and sculptural porcelain elements. These materials are not decorative—they are symbolic. Cracks speak of breaking, veining of endurance, luminosity of divine presence. Hidden details, forms or words are found that require slowing down and engagement, rewarding contemplation.
I am drawn to themes of transformation, faith, identity, and hope—especially what emerges after trial. I create art to mark endurance, to honor sacred process, and to offer visual language for stories that are often unseen.
