Artist Statement

Traveling and exploring new places has always been deeply meaningful to me, which is why this theme resonates so strongly within my work. Each of these locations was visited with my significant other and holds a special place in my heart because of the memories connected to them.

The first photograph was taken while traveling back to the area where I attended college for my best friend’s son’s graduation party. During the drive, we stopped alongside an open field filled with an incredible array of wildflowers. We were both captivated by the overwhelming beauty, vibrant colors, and natural serenity of the landscape.

The second photograph was captured at sunset at the Grand Canyon during an anniversary trip that began in Phoenix and continued through the Grand Canyon, Williams, and Las Vegas. Witnessing the Grand Canyon in person was one of the most breathtaking experiences I have ever had. The entire journey was filled with unforgettable moments and meaningful memories that made the experience even more special.

The final photograph was taken during a long weekend trip to the Luray Caverns area. We spent the weekend hiking in extremely cold weather, with temperatures near ten degrees. As we reached the top of the hill, snow began to fall, creating a peaceful winter atmosphere. Although the conditions were harsh, the landscape felt incredibly serene and beautiful, making the experience both memorable and inspiring.
