Artist Statement
The world in which humans live is such a large and diverse specimen to experience-What is a better way to explore that than through miniature models that take a glimpse into that very world? There are billions of people on the planet that experience the world all so differently. Everyone is in a completely different stage in their life, job, and family. Making miniature models allows me to explore the experiences and lives of all different people. The unique experiences I have in my own home, culture, vacations, and daily struggles is what inspires me to create 3-D models. It is what allows me to share mine and other peoples’ interests, hobbies, and hardships that would have otherwise been hidden and kept away. I hope my art can bring joy, community, and be an eyeopener to other people; which allows the viewer to step into another person’s shoes. In my case art is a way for me to connect people and ideas that otherwise would have never connected nor shared their experience with one another. In the long run I hope my art can create a more empathetic and curious world.
