Suzanne Charbonneau | Artist Statement

If a blank canvas could talk, (and mine does) it would dare me to liberate it from its current state—to give it life, meaning, and hopefully, a little magic. What story will this canvas attempt to tell? The dance of light and shadow on a still life? The ethereal gesture of tall grass in the wind? Or just the feeling of being in a special place. My paintings attempt to celebrate the beauty that nature gives us, in an evolving style that blends a brush of realism with a stroke of impressionism.
