Dora Latrise

Artist Statement

DoraLatrise is a traditional and digital artist from Detroit, Michigan. Her inspiration comes from her faith in Christ and the world.

Dora began painting when she was 13 at an art studio then stopped when she was 18 and found a bigger passion for art in her 20s. In her journey she found it very hard at first coming back, relearning how to draw and paint but with practice she began to get better and really find what works for her and what she connects to.

Being an artist for Dora has helped her understand more of what her purpose is and also unlocked a power in her, she didn’t know she had. She loves how art connects her with people in a way she never could before and expresses an idea or story to tell. Allowing her to break free and show something to society.

On Doras’ journey she continues to explore new ideas and create new dreams to surpass her artist boundaries.
