Artist Statement

When I look at something I don't see detail but rather the big picture. My art reflects this as I do not paint in detail, but rather a minimalist style emphasizing shape and color.
This gives the viewer a chance to use their imagination. I find when people see my paintings in a gallery or my studio, they often see things that were not intentional. Sometimes flowers growing a field look to someone like people. I look for the simple elegance in all that I see both in life and in my imagination and try to represent it as I see it.
