Artist Statement

My interest in quilting came from a precious gift from my grandmother long after she had passed. The meaning of a handmade, beautiful quilt is powerful. The quilts I've been doing of late are about enjoying people you love, with a basket of good food out in nature, in the sunshine or shade of a tree with a special layer of love under it all--plein air picnic quilts. Wear a sweet handmade dress, some I make are pieced handkerchiefs, and take an art journal to dream with if you're going solo to enjoy your own company.
