Artist Statement
I am a self-taught visual artist, who studied photography at Columbia College, in Chicago.
Fine Art is my passion.
My images reflect the way I see, artistically.
How different colors of light, affect what is seen, or not seen, in an image,
intrigues me.
The color of visible light changes, as the day wears away.
Color after a rainfall, or the pureness of color, on a gray day, present great photo opportunities.
I make exposures of visible light, which I upload to my computer.
I re-imagine many of the resultant images. I print some of them, and, I mat, frame and hopefully, exhibit some of the finalists.
All of my art images are changed.
Perhaps I warm or cool them. I may enhance the light in one area, and negate
it totally in another area, of an image.
Maybe I will use only a small piece of the image, to tell my story.
The possibilities are endless.
With few exceptions, my images are
'one of one'. I work in series, producing
art prints, in color and grayscale, from reality to extreme abstract.
Print size is 15x19in, on 17x22in fine art paper, and is meant for a 20x24in opening.
I exhibit my art in Midwestern galleries, and virtually, worldwide.
My art is meant to hang on walls, and is
owned by collectors, on four continents.
