Artist Statement

Mixed Media/Fiber Artist
I have been creating Mixed Media Fiber Art since 2020. Recently I have incorporated felted paper and fabric as a base for my art. I am highly focused on texture using embroidery, Tyvek, repurposed fabrics and other found objects. My work very often takes on an organic presence as I let my materials guide me through the creative process. My art begins with a vague idea of the end result using my intuition along with chosen materials to find self expression in my art.
I am inspired by nature and people as they exist in nature. I am intrigued with ancient civilizations and their lifestyles.
I have taken various art classes over the years including recent, online courses in various fiber techniques.
I also create jewelry using bead embroidery and bead woven techniques.
