Artist Statement

A contemporary abstract artist, my work explores life and nature in all its facets. I am drawn to the beauty and preservation of nature and its relation to the humankind. I am deeply drawn to the dialogue between right and wrong, the injustices carried out in the name of power, politics, religion, caste and gender, the injustices of climate change - and these find expression in my paintings.
Color and texture are two important elements in my work.
Combining bold color with abstraction in theme and process, my art explores women's rights and their place in today's world and their ongoing fight for equality and respect in every walk of life. I love to experiment with the different forms of abstractions in highlighting the beauty and challenges we face in world today, and this is reflected in the different styles used to depict women empowerment and their strength in bonding together in their common struggle against the patriarchal society.
