Artist Statement

I am an Altadena artist, hobby photographer, insect collector, writer or prose, and more! I spend a lot of time painting portraits in acrylics and oils and incorporate collage into my paintings. Beyond painting, for the past two and a half years I have been crafting Japanese-inspired collages using handmade washi. Much of my work throughout 2025 and 2026 has been born from (or has been a healing tool after) the devastating loss of my home and art studio space in the Altadena Eaton Canyon Fire. Where my art has not been a direct response to that profound loss, it has served as a quiet vehicle for healing and forward movement.
