Artist Statement
My work explores the associative potential of found objects through assemblage and sculptural composition. I'm drawn to materials that carry traces of use, weathering, and memory. Beyond their practical identities, I see found objects as carriers of presence and possibility.
My process begins with attentive looking. I arrange found elements into quiet relationships where new associations can emerge. Many of the works hover between abstraction and representation, without fully resolving into any single reading.
Through arrangement and juxtaposition, I look for moments when ordinary materials seem to exceed themselves—when the familiar gives way to something less easily named.
Surface and atmosphere are central to my process. Through layered washes, muted color, abrasion, and subtle tonal shifts, I soften the boundaries between disparate materials so the compositions feel discovered rather than constructed—as though the elements have gradually arrived into alignment on their own.
