Artist Statement

My paintings are about joy, magic, and spontaneity. They comprise a personal iconography and palette that I’ve developed over the years.

I’m interested in the balance between abstraction and symbolism, and try to achieve that in my work. I love color, texture, and pattern; paint and collage give me the greatest flexibility to work with those elements. I hope that my paintings arouse curiosity, and that viewers have fun with and enjoy the possibilities in my work.
