Artist Statement

My work is driven by things that I love.

I'm excited by line. Most compelling of all lines is a graceful curve, like the bend of a road winding out of sight. Virtually all my work references curving lines in some fashion.

I love working with paper. I like the soothing rhythmic, motion of cutting with scissors. I become totally absorbed in the process of pasting and assembling an image from hundreds (or even thousands) of fragments.

I work primarily with paper from discarded magazines and catalogs, I find it deeply satisfying to know that I'm turning waste into something beautiful and lasting.
