show: "Shadow Portrait- Nature's Embrace"
The natural world of woodland lakes & streams nurtures me. It is my sanctuary for solace, serenity and rejuvenation. As a child in Minnesota I became intimate with my natural surroundings, which taught me to see metaphors and patterns that reflect aspects of life.
Seeing my shadow projected across a clear stream, leaning against a tree, in the woods, or cast upon a majestic boulder, there is the evidence that I am there.
I paint my shadow portraits in nature to remind me of my roots. It returns me to my Self- and to Nature's Embrace.
Also: Spirit Bowls: 3-D Sculptures
Evoking images of artifacts excavated from the sedimentary layers of ancient archaeological ruins, silently recorded in time...these vessels embody the spirit of the primordial earth itself.
As ceremonial bowls, they suggest the nests of primitive creatures, honoring the abundance of life by representing all earthly elements in their construction: Earth, Wood, Water, Fire, Metal & Air.
