Artist Statement
Central to my artwork is my love of nature and the natural order of things, along with chaos as a natural process. My work reflects this, with the hope of conservation and all the concerns that are attendant on this ideal. I strive to move materials into a more modern sensibility, and therefore often combine a variety of materials. I prefer not controlling all aspects in order to create a more random, and unique result: an evolution. I look for the deeper beauty in things, people, and situations, and express it in a way that leaves room for interpretation and discussion by the viewer. While the impetus for my artwork is environmentally centered, I also create artwork about current issues with an emphasis on feminism and freedom.
