Artist Statement

I look to express positive energy via color.

As a painter, I use color as a tool in the goal of erasure and reconstruction. Color is the tool and goal. Different media, even different paints, have their own promises. I am from the generation that focuses less on craft over the experience of the medium. I see myself as the medium’s medium.

The anti-message focus does not forestall expression of the painter's voice. Art without borders can evoke sentiment whether primal emotions, pre-form, pre-symbols or the present. I paint without a message but not without a voice.
