Artist Statement

My present works, which I call 'hand threaded embossments,' are an attempt to combine papers, ink and threads into a creative art medium. I wanted to create photos that activated the flat surface of paper and possessed true sculptural qualities. This embossment process represented a dual experiment: on the one hand, it expressed the beauty of the photo; and on the other, created a sculptural composition in form, line and texture.
