Artist Statement

A passion for designing and constructing handbags has evolved over the years, after having been taught the basics of sewing as a child, by my grandmother. After observing her make magic with fabrics and taking only one sewing class which was a college level tailoring course, the spark grew. The hunt for fabrics is very addictive and so the design process progresses as a result of exciting patterns, hues and textures of the textiles.

My handbags are artist designed and crafted from limited quantities of high quality fabrics, which result in a 'one-of-a-kind' product. Each handbag design is embellished with Swarovski's crystals, handmade, antique, special buttons, or tassels, along with bottoms stabilized by adding a vinyl inset so that the shape remains secure.
