Artist Statement

Rosalinda A. Post-Lucas
All art begins as an Inward Journey of insight and concept. It evolves first through internal dialogue, then transforms as it is given a physical context. My art should extend beyond subjective limits to tell the stories I want to share. For me play is a serious matter in which I use creative tactics and applications which I hope will become a mindful visual dialogue that is shared with the viewer.
I have been a practicing artist and art educator for over 40 years. Most of my work has been in glass often working in fused or 3D pieces. My work also includes ceramics, oil, watercolor and acrylic painting. Over the decades my work has traveled the world landing in such places as Brazil and Finland. In 2017 my work was accepted into 2 national shows in St Louis (The Anne Metzger Memorial Exhibit) and the October National in Decatur. I was also a featured artist in the HD Smith Gallery in the Hoogland Center for the Arts in Springfield.
