Artist Statement

Gustavo Fajardo is an Art director and independent producer based in Guatemala City. His work has been published in The New York Times, Oxford University Press, Juxtapoze, Vice, and the PBS OffBook Series. He has collaborated with Atlantic Records on visual projects for artists such as Cardi B and Migos. He has also collaborated with Chavvo Studios, founded by Erick Tran (Ex-Simpsons).

His work has captured the attention of international institutions and was considered and referenced by production companies such as Mardi 8, which was in charge of the traveling immersive exhibition dedicated to the Mona Lisa at the Louvre Museum (France).

He has also been officially selected for international festivals such as ScreenDance Festival (Sweden, 2017), Panama Animation Fest (Panama, 2018), the Suzanne Awards – Blender Conference (Amsterdam, 2022), finalist in the third Latin American Pictoline Illustration Biennial (Mexico City, 2022), the 9th FECISO Independent Film Festival festival (Colombia, 2025) EAFF Egyptian American Film Festival (NY, USA 2025) Shcha7sec, InterFilm (Berlin, Germany 2025) and Miami Art Tech Summit I.A. & VR Film Visionaries, (Miami, USA 2025)

With more than 40 international collective exhibitions in galleries, contemporary art festivals, museums, metaverse exhibitions, and notable NFT collections and charity events, His practice is a critical exploration of the technological frontier, dissecting the complex fusion of the human and the digital.
