Artist Statement

I have been a freelance commercial artist for 50 years and have enjoyed an eclectic list of commissions from working on a Dr. Seuss carousel to painting painting five dayglo murals for the Space Race ride at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. I enjoy the challenge of matching ideas and words to beautiful and thought provoking, if not amusing, images. My public murals are designed to be inspiring and positive so that the people who ssee it every day get a lift from it. My book illustration work and portraitures emphasize the humanity of my subjects.
