Artist Statement
Martina Goulart is an artist, muralist, and teaching artist based in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where she creates oil paintings inspired by the landscapes, wildlife, and communities of the California coast and redwood region. Her work explores themes of place, belonging, exploration, and imagination through visual storytelling. Drawing from everyday experiences in Santa Cruz County, she creates paintings that celebrate the connections between people, nature, and the places they call home.
In addition to her studio practice, Martina is an experienced teaching artist who has led community-based art projects, school murals, and public art installations throughout the region. Her work has been exhibited through Silicon Valley Open Studios, Santa Cruz Open Studios, regional exhibitions, and community venues.
