Sandra Meyer
Artist Statement
Sandra Meyer is a landscape and wildlife photographer based in Manhattan Beach, California. Her work is shaped by a lifelong passion for travel and exploration, with each new journey contributing to an evolving and diverse portfolio. Originally from Germany, Sandra has lived in Asia, the United Kingdom, and Australia before ultimately settling in Southern California, experiences that continue to inform her global perspective and visual approach.
Her interest in photography began early in childhood. Encouraged by her parents—a civil engineer and an apothecary—she traveled extensively from a young age. After receiving her first camera, she began documenting both her travels and everyday surroundings on film, developing a keen eye for composition and storytelling.
Sandra initially pursued a different academic and professional path, earning a degree in mathematics from the University of Berlin. She went on to build a successful career in business while also raising a family. It was during this chapter of her life that she returned to her creative roots, founding Sandra Meyer Photography and realizing a lifelong passion for visual expression.
