Artist Statement

My vision and message for the piece is the meaning of my films in real life. So far, two pieces represent life scenarios of what happens when you have an issue with someone, or even struggling with your own person, like as an artist, sometimes it's hard to focus on subjects suggested as School, family, drama, with balancing art, it can change you as a person. Following up on my next piece, following a struggle with a mother's mental state can drive them crazy, especially when having kids. These are examples of what a person can go through in their daily lives as people, because as people, we aren't all perfect. The techniques and programs I used were Premiere Pro, using it as a source to make my video gradient or color stand out more when people show up on screen, or a tool to edit and cut out when going through your video, which wasn't hard the first time, but in this next film, I will consider more adjustments. My artistic influences or inspirations are there; it can remind me of a strong woman, my mom. She inspires me every day with how she is a good mother to both my sister and me. She is my mom, friend, and a person I can come to. I wanted to give this story a point of view of what mothers do when a child finally makes their mother snap. It's the word mother that makes people believe they take care of EVERYTHING. The definition of mother is everything; the point of it is an inspiration of what mothers have gone through, only for the outside view to expect perfection from mothers. This story is how a woman can snap, a point of view of what it is like to lose a child due to your mental state.
