Artist Statement

LESLIE ANN MCQUAIDE

As a young child growing up in a strict Catholic family, I spent most of my obligatory ceremony time in an old church, gazing at the statues and the ceiling stars. There were implications inside the presence of those statues and symbols--a kind of silent acknowledgement that Spirits we could not see but whose presence we could feel were there with us if we opened ourselves to them.
So, the margins between visible and non-visible energies have always enchanted me. The work that I do now celebrates the gathering of invisible divine feminine energies into visible forms.
