Artist Statement

My artistic practice centers on transformation, memory and quiet ritual, using discarded tea bags as both material and metaphor. Drawn to a material that is thrown away, I reclaim these fragile remnants and reimagine them as vessels of renewal. Each tea bag carries an unseen history- moments of pause, conversation, solitude or reflection- and I approach them as intimate archives of lived experiences.
I am deeply enchanted by the inherent qualities of the tea bag -its translucency, its subtle staining and fragility. The muted tones and variations in color, shaped by the steeping process, become a natural palette- one that speaks to time, use and impermanence.
My work reflects an ongoing meditation on cycles of use and reuse, consumption and care. By elevating the discarded, I seek to draw attention to the beauty embedded in everyday rituals and to suggest the potential for renewal in what we leave behind. Ultimately, these pieces become contemplative spaces -where material, memory and meaning are gently intertwined.
