Artist Statement – Jenny Faw
Color, movement, and a sense of play guide my work. Using what I call Freestyle Watercolor, I create expressive florals, imaginative forms, and layered compositions with bold brushstrokes and unexpected color combinations.
Living on Cape Cod, I am continually inspired by the shifting coastal light, wildflowers, sea grasses, and vibrant natural color of the landscape. I paint intuitively, allowing each piece to evolve through loose marks, rhythm, and pattern.
My goal is to create work that feels joyful, fresh, and uplifting. Creating and sharing watercolor is deeply meaningful to me, and I hope the joy I feel while painting is reflected in the work itself.
