Artist Statement

During my formative years, my father was a commercial artist for the Borden Company, and I enjoyed watching him create signs, labels and logos. I often played with the art material in his studio. As a young adult I was able to save enough money to attend DuCret School of The Arts in Plainfield NJ in 1979/1980 for a year. I was able to find a job as a color separation artist and did that for 11 years until computers extinguished my job. I went back to school and became a licensed clinical social worker in the 90’s, and devoted my time to serving families that were involved in Child Protective Services, as well as Hospice patients and their families. I've recently retired and I'm finally able to devote my time and energy back to art. I had to become reacquainted with the concepts and application, having been away from it during my social work years. I’m inspired by the beauty of the Cape, as well as the art community I’ve come to know and love.
