Artist Statement

My work explores the quiet power and fluid grace found in horses and sea creatures. Two forms of life that, though separated by land and water, share a profound language of movement. I am drawn to the tension between strength and softness, mass and motion, permanence and flow. Through sculpture, I aim to capture that fleeting energy in enduring material.
Horses embody grounded freedom. Their musculature, posture and spirit speak of partnership, resilience, and instinct. In sculpting them, I focus on gesture and anatomy on the subtle shift of weight, the arc of the neck, the readiness held in stillness. Each piece becomes a study of contained momentum.
Sea creatures offer a different rhythm more fluid, more mysterious. Tentacles curl, fin ripple, and bodies drift with unseen currents. These forms allow me to explore movement in its most lyrical state, where structure dissolves into flow. They represent adaptability, depth, and the unknown.
Working in solid materials, I am fascinated by the paradox of rendering motion in metal or clay. I strive to create sculptures that feel alive - caught mid-breath, mid-stride, mid-current. Ultimately, my work is about honoring the vitality of the natural world and inviting viewers to pause, feel, and reconnect with the elemental forces that shape us all.
