Artist Statement

My work explores the tension between free will and influence, using painterly realism, satire, and narrative tension to question how “choice” is constructed in contemporary life. I’m drawn to figures caught mid-action—moments where decisions feel imminent but unresolved—because they mirror the psychological space we inhabit daily. Humor and cultural references act as entry points, inviting viewers in before revealing quieter, more unsettling questions beneath the surface.
