Artist Statement

My art is about finding beauty in the everyday world. I tend to use images from childhood memories such as the pattern of a handmade quilt or the wallpaper of an old home place. I use wood scraps from my job as a cabinet maker to create objects to tell those stories from these thoughts. These pieces are from a series of works that I am currently making to represent gardens and flowers. Hopefully the viewer will see the beauty and find fond memories in the colors and patterns of the world around them.
