Artist Statement

My work explores identity as something personal, ever-changing, and often overwhelming. I am a nonbinary, autistic artist, and I use digital painting to express feelings that are hard for me to put into words, like exhaustion, anxiety, and trying to keep going even when things feel heavy. I often focus on faces, expression, and color to show how identity can feel unstable or pressured by expectations, time, and self-doubt.
Color is very important in my work. I use bright and saturated colors alongside darker tones to show the contrast between the joy and pain that can exist at the same time. Working digitally allows me to layer, erase, and rework my images, which reflects how I am still learning who I am and how I change over time. My goal is for viewers to connect with the emotions in my work and reflect on their own experiences with identity, vulnerability, and resilience.
